• 1. How are you different from other medical aid?

  • As Botsogo Health Plan we offer an ease of mind medical aid cover with high earn benefits and suitable premiums as well as no 10% co-payment.

• 2. Is the scheme open to any person?

  • No, it is open to person from birth to 55 years of age with a bank account or reliable source of income.

• 3. Can a minor become a member?

  • Yes, as long as the guardian is willing and providing proof that they will be paying.

• 4. Why should I ensure that my prescription is always signed and stamped?

  • Because that is a strong proof that the prescription was given to you by the facility in question. Signed and stamped prescription helps in quick service delivery since pharmacies would not have to go back and forth with the member provided the drug is not exclusion on our list. Kindly note that accredited Pharmacies would not supply drugs on prescription forms that are not signed and stamped. Signed only or stamped only is not enough, it has to be both.

• 5. What happens when an employee resigns?

  • The law provides for a member of a scheme to elect to transfer his/her accrued benefits to another registered scheme when he/ she changes employment, and both the previous employer and the trustees of that scheme are obliged to comply in effecting the transfer and the necessary notifications.

• 6. Can I still use my Metropolitan Health membership card even if I resign from my Company?

  • No, you have to hand over your membership card to your Hr. However if you are still interested in our health plan, kindly call any of the Hotline numbers for assistance

• 7. My dependent urgently needs medical care but cannot find the Metropolitan card, what do I do?

  • You will need to contact Metropolitan on the hotlines; an intervention will be done for your dependent to get the medical care needed after which you can request for a card reprint at no cost.

• 8. I was informed by an accredited pharmacy that my Metropolitan card had expired, what do I do?

  • Our cards do not have expiry dates, only the benefit date which is date the member joined the scheme. If you experience such challenge, call our hotlines whilst at the facility so we can resolve it.
